Winter Trip - March 2008 -
CONFIRMED
We're going to
be heading to the mainland to do some winter
walking and low grade winter routes next
year. Dates are leaving Friday 7th March
and returning Sunday 16th (although
they can be moved by a day or so if
necessary).
There may not be
much snow in case we'll just do some hiking
and routes if the weathers ok. It will be a
club trip so travel and accommodation will
be 50% funded hopefully. Pretty much anyone
can go as long as your fairly fit and have
your own basic winter gear (crampons,
walking axe, mountain boots) as the club
can't provide that.
A New Year
So we're now into the second
year of Climb Shetland as a club and we have
a new committee to suit. It also means that
memberships are due for renewal so please
get them to us ASAP. Last year was a huge
success despite the weather and the last few
weeks have given a great start to this year.
Long may it continue.
More information in the
Club Info pages.

Winter Trip
Report
The clubs first trip
off the island has been a huge success. I’d like to
thank everyone who organised it and for making it
such an enjoyable week. We were off to Glen Nevis
for some winter walking, aiming to improve or learn
new skills in winter conditions in the mountains.
The group were Pete, Julie, Tommy, Kelly, Alan, Al,
Anna and Anghy.
