Times and Prices
Tuesdays 7pm - 10pm
Members:
£3.50 per night
Non-members: £5.00 per night
This is payable
to a Climb Shetland Committee Member on the night NOT
Clickimin.
It is essential that you
sign in every time you are at a club evening. There will be a
folder for this there.
There is no need to book a place on
these nights. Just turn up.
You may also book the wall at any
time subject to availability. Cost is £2.80 per person per hour and
there is a minimum of 2 people required to use the wall.
Inductions
To climb at the wall you must
have undertaken the induction. Induction sessions will be
mentioned on the forum 1 week before. If you are already a
climber, these will take place on club nights, and can be
organised by
contacting us. If you are not competent at belaying, tying
in etc then you must attend a beginner's induction session.
Beginner's induction sessions
will be organised by the Clickimin and are for complete beginners
who do not own any of their own equipment, and do not know how to
belay or tie in. There is a waiting list for these inductions;
please ask the Clickimin for more details.
You cannot take
someone to climb who has not been inducted, even under your
supervision, unless they are your child, see below.
Children
The age restriction for the wall has now been
waived and under 10s may now climb under the supervision of a parent
or guardian who has been inducted. The adult must not climb, only
belay the child. This applies for children up to the age of 14, but
any child over 10 may do an induction which is recommended.
Our club nights are mainly for the adult
members of the club, but children who have been inducted are
welcome if supervised by a parent. In the future we may be
running Youth Sessions, so if you are interested then please
contact us.
Further Details
Harnesses, belay devices, helmets,
chalk bags and rock
shoes are available for hire at the Clickimin. Please ask to borrow
equipment on a club evening, don't just help yourself.
Do not hesitate
to contact us with any further enquiries, or post a message on
the forum.
